Maine’s State House was evacuated Friday morning following a bomb threat emailed to one legislator, which was quickly determined to be a hoax.
“There was a bomb scare at the Maine Capitol this morning, which was investigated and determined to be a hoax. The State House is back to normal operations,” said the Maine Capitol Police on X.
The threats targeted the Capitol, the Maine Democrat Party building, and two legislators.
At 7:15am, police were informed of the threats, then evacuated the 100 people inside the Capitol building at that time.
K9 units were brought in from the Maine State Police Bomb Unit to sweep the building, searching for explosives.
As State Police, cleared the Capitol, Augusta police cleared the Democrat Party Building, and the homes of the two legislators targeted with the threat.
No evidence of explosives was found at any of the locations, and police deemed the threats a hoax.
The State House was allowed to resume operations, with some delays caused by the evacuation.
On January 3, the first day of Maine’s current legislative session, a slew of emailed threat forced the evacuation of the State House in Maine, and numerous other State Houses across the country.
FBI determined that all of those threats were hoaxes.
this person needs to be found and jailed. No matter what party or age.
Funny how the investigation into the alleged swat on shenna bellows isn’t going anywhere. This likely won’t either. Heck, fbi can’t even find the D.C kitchen timer bomber.
