Police are requesting that Portland residents check their cars and homes for damage from gunfire to assist in their investigation of a Sunday evening shooting in city’s West End neighborhood.

Portland Police say they responded to a report of shots fired on Tate Street at about 6:41 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.

Police say evidence of a firearm being discharged several times in the area was discovered.

Although two persons of interest were questioned in relation to the incident, police said Monday that no arrests have yet been made.

As a part of their investigation into the shooting, the Portland Police Special Reaction Team (SRT) executed a search warrant on an unspecified residence.

Investigators are asking residents in the Tate Street area to check if their cars or homes have been struck by gunfire, and urged anyone who has any information to contact the Portland Police Department at (207) 873-8475.
