$320 Million Fail: Biden Admin Pauses Aid to ‘floating pier’ Off Gaza Coast After Structure Breaks Apart

The U.S. was forced to put a pause on the delivery of aid to its “floating pier” on the coast of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday after a spell of bad weather caused the $320 million structure to break apart, officials confirmed to Fox News Digital.

Officials told Fox News that four vessels that had stabilized the pier broke off of the structure due to choppy waters earlier this week, causing the pier to no longer be operational.

Two of the unmoored vessels were reportedly beached on Gaza and two others drifted to the coast of Israel near Ashkelon.

Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh told reporters that the pier will be pulled out and sent to the southern Israeli city of Ashdod for repairs over the next two days.

Singh said the fixes will take “at least over a week,” and then the structure will need to be anchored back to the shore in Gaza.

The temporary floating pier, a project announced by the Biden administration in March, was meant to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

However, as of last week the Pentagon confirmed none of the 569 metric tons of aid transferred over the pier had been delivered to the people of Gaza.

John Hasson, a contributor at the conservative outlet Townhall, shared a collage of mainstream media headlines regarding the 12-day timeline of President Biden’s short-lived and highly expensive pier.

The 12-day life of Biden’s $320 million pier:

May 17: “Aid flows into Gaza over massive U.S. pier”

May 21: “None of the aid from U.S. pier has been delivered”

May 25: Pier damaged but “still functional”

The setbacks to the Biden administration’s pier come as the Israeli military conducted an operation in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, where well over a million Palestinian civilians have fled since Israel began its response to the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas.

Maybe Biden should have read the history of “D Day”, June 6 1944. 80 years ago next week the Allies landed in France and brought with them a floating harbor – The Mulberry. This allowed for the transfer of men, machines and supplies without having to capture a French port.
We must never forget the ultimate sacrifice made by so many young men that day!

It’s a relatively mild climate along the Mediterranean coast. Can’t wait to see how the windmills fare along the Maine coast that are proposed by the Green New Deal scammers.
