European elections held over the weekend saw significant gains for conservative parties across the continent, as European voters appear to be growing tired of the EU’s mass immigration policies, financial support for Ukraine, and radical economic interventions based on climate ideology.
According to a CNN report, the elections saw the highest turnout for a European election in 30 years, with 51 percent participation.
France’s liberal party faced disastrous defeat over the weekend, which led to liberal French President Emmanuel Macron dissolving the country’s parliament and calling for a snap election to be held on June 30.
French elections saw a massive increase in support for the conservative National Rally party, which opposes the mass immigration policies that have led to France gaining a significant Middle Eastern population.
National Rally is headed by Marine Le Pen, who lost to Macron in the country’s presidential elections in both 2017 and 2022.
In the 2019 EU parliamentary elections, Macron’s party held 22.4 percent support, while National Rally received the slightly higher 23.3 percent.
The recent election saw National Rally gaining support, with numbers shooting up to 32.4 percent. Meanwhile, support for Macron’s party plummeted to 15.2 percent.
Following that vote, Macron dissolved the French Parliament, a decision which will allow a new election, where National Rally will have the chance to take control over much of the country’s governance, although the presidency will not be up to a vote during the snap election.
Le Pen has previously spoken out against French involvement in NATO, EU membership for Ukraine, and unlimited immigration.
“We are ready to take power if the French place their trust in us,” said Le Pen following the announced snap election.
EU elections in Austria saw a victory for the country’s conservative Freedom Party of Austria, which came in first place with 27 percent of the vote.
The weekend’s election marked the first time in history that the Freedom Party, which is critical of EU immigration policy, and which has opposed foreign aid for Ukraine, has taken first place in the country’s EU elections.
The victory for the Freedom Party came with defeats for the country’s liberal, and Green parties.
In Belgium, the home of the EU’s Parliament, the liberal Prime Minister Alexander De Croo resigned as liberal parties across the continent were facing significant losses.
Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece, and Hungary all also saw gains among conservative parties.
Not all countries saw overwhelming victories for conservative parties, though.
In many countries, the liberal parties remained in power, but conservative movements across the continent still saw significant growth.
The results come after recent months have seen massive protests across Europe from farmers opposed to the EU’s radical climate policies. Critics of those “green” policies have argued that they have undermined farmers’ ability to provide for themselves and feed their nations.
Despite the gains made by conservatives, the leadership of the EU as a whole is likely to remain largely unchanged.
Ah, yes,….. Hopefully this trend will continue, through atleast Nov. 5th,…..
Would be nice to see that start happening in Maine. Because Maine is getting overrun with “refugees” and “asylum seekers” and nobody is doing anything about it.
That’s funny cause the Tories in the UK are supposedly conservative and they have opened England, Scotland, Whales and Northern Ireland up to foreign invaders at the behest of their jewish overlords in the City of London.
