Toxicology Questions Linger Over Illegal Alien Who Caused Car Crash That Killed Maine Woman

State and federal officials are remaining tight-lipped over an April 26 multi-car crash that left an Albion woman dead and sent her husband into critical care on a Life Flight to Portland.

According to witnesses, the accident was caused by Oguzhan Cildir, 23, an illegal alien who entered the U.S. without authorization in January.

More than 62 days after the fatal accident, no charges have been filed against Cildir, and a police source tells the Maine Wire that state police are still waiting for a toxicology report.

Gloria J. Cascio, 53, died unexpectedly on April 26, 2024 after a vehicle she was traveling in was struck by a Toyota Prius operated by Oguzhan Cildir, 23.

Law enforcement sources told the Maine Wire in May that Cildir was reported by multiple witnesses at the time of the wreck to have been driving erratically and at a high rate of speed when his Toyota Prius caused a massive pile-up in Wells on I-95.

The Maine State Police (MSP) did not initially disclose to the news media that Cildir was an illegal alien.

When the Maine Wire followed up with federal immigration officials, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that Cildir was not present in the U.S. legally.

A DHS official said that the MSP contacted a local Customs and Border Protection (CBP) official after Cildir was detained at the scene of the accident and confirmed that Cildir had been paroled into the U.S. after crossing the border with Mexico in January.

The MSP subsequently turned him over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Federal and state officials have not revealed how Cildir managed to obtain the keys to a Toyota Prius, who the vehicle was registered to, or why they think Cildir was in Maine.

ICE officials have declined to say whether Cildir has been processed for removal from the U.S. An ICE inmate search was unable to determine whether Cildir is currently being held at an ICE facility.

Federal officials have not disclosed his native country.

Despite national attention on the story, the Maine Wire is the sole news outlet in the state that has reported on the link between the fatal car accident and the unprecedented levels of illegal immigration over the southern border in recent years.

York County District Attorney Kathryn M. Slatterly has yet to file any charges in the deadly car crash.

“The case remains under investigation and in the hands of the Maine State Police,” Slatterly told the Maine Wire this week.

A source with knowledge of the investigation said that the MSP has yet to submit a report to the York DA’s office because, 62 days later, they’re still awaiting a toxicology report to determine whether Cildir was operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The accident resulted in the death of 53-year-old Gloria J. Cascio, who is survived by her parents, two brothers, three children, seven grandchildren, and her husband, Vincent Cascio.

So, where exactly is the erratic Prius driver Oguzhan Cildir now? Being held in jail/prison somewhere? Out shopping for a new car? Maybe taking a bus to a sanctuary city somewhere? “Marco”……….”Polo”

Meanwhile, this poor woman’s family must endure the unthinkable that he’ll never be brought to justice. Chellie Pingree, (aka Rochelle Johnson from Minnesota), a North Haven Island resident should take in a bunch of these illegal invaders. She’s advocating for them. Let’s boat em over to North Haven where she can welcome them. Everyone who votes for Chellie/Rochelle should be required to board illegal aliens.
