RFK Jr. Qualifies for Maine Ballot Access

Robert Kennedy Jr. officially qualified on Tuesday to appear on Maine’s general election ballot as an Independent candidate for president.

“Today was a really exciting campaign day — we submitted ballot access signatures in NINE STATES! Team Kennedy volunteers turned in signatures in Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia,” said Kennedy on X.

Maine requires that an independent candidate submit at least 4,000 signatures to the Secretary of State’s office before qualifying for ballot access.

Kennedy volunteers submitted 4,800 signatures in Maine and, on the same day, submitted the required signatures in eight other states.

Currently, Kennedy will appear on general election ballots in 34 states, although he is working toward ballot access in every state.

Kennedy, who began his presidential bid as a Democrat, has been more popular in polls among Democrats than Republicans, with multiple polls showing that when Kennedy is introduced, he takes more support away from President Joe Biden than former President Donald Trump.

Although President Biden has dropped out of the race, it remains likely that Kennedy will take more voters from Vice President Kamala Harris than from former President Trump.
