One of Maine’s prominent left-wing television news stations, News Center Maine (WCSH-6), had a drag queen, Jake Boyce – using the stage name Chartreuse Money – present its weather forecast on Saturday in collaboration with Pride Portland.

“Honey it is 80 degrees in Portland now honey, and we are feeling the effects. The sun is out, all it took was a Pride Parade to bring the sunshine out today, but honey it is hot all over the state,” said Boyce.
The broadcast, produced in honor of LGBTQ Pride in Portland, featured a weather presenter fawning over Boyce, instructing him on how to present the weather forecast, and repeatedly calling the visitor “mother.”
“Now, mother, we are going to have to teach you how to do the weather. This is one of the most fun things ever to do, is teach people how to do the weather,” said the meteorologist.
Boyce repeatedly referred to the viewers as “honey” throughout the broadcast, and at one point misidentified a high-pressure zone symbol as a hurricane, though he was quickly corrected.
Boyce has previously headlined numerous “drag queen story hour” events, in which a cross-dressing man reads books to small children. He attended multiple such events this year, including one at the Portland Public Library in February that was marketed to babies under a full month old.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Boyce graduated with a degree in Dance from Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts. He worked as an Ed Tech at the Raymond A. Geiger Elementary School in Lewiston from 2016 to 2018, before becoming a full-time transvestite and performer.
