LEWISTON, Maine — Another violent incident unfolded Sunday in Lewiston, where police are investigating what appears to be an intentional hit-and-run involving a stolen vehicle on Bartlett Street.

According to information surrounding the case, one man allegedly used a stolen vehicle to intentionally run down another man before fleeing the area.

Authorities believe the victim suffered serious injuries, but as of Sunday, police reportedly had not yet located him.

The disturbing incident adds to growing public concern in a city already grappling with shootings, drug activity, violent crime, and ongoing public safety issues.

Details remain limited, but early information indicates investigators believe the victim was intentionally targeted with the vehicle.

The unusual nature of the incident has left many residents shaken, especially given the report that the seriously injured victim had still not been located hours after the alleged attack.

Lewiston has faced mounting scrutiny in recent months as residents continue to speak emotionally at public meetings about crime, safety concerns, and a growing sense that violence is becoming more common across parts of the city.

Police have not yet released additional information about suspects, arrests, or what may have led to the incident.

The investigation remains active.

Also as of 4:30 on Sunday, reports, of another shooting, on Howe Street.

Violence was very concerning in Lewiston on Sunday.

The Maine Wire will continue to update this developing story as more information becomes available.
