The Sheriff’s Department announced on Friday that they were searching for a missing 13-year-old girl who had not been seen or heard from since October 6 and asked the public for any information on her.

They believed that she was in the Portland or Biddeford area.

The investigation concluded on Monday at approximately 8:00 p.m. when the department’s Criminal Investigations Division found that the girl was allegedly staying at 470 Brighton Avenue.

Detectives and the Cumberland County Emergency Services Unit obtained and executed a search warrant for an apartment at the address.

Law enforcement safely located the missing girl inside, allegedly along with two other people: Elijah Coleman, 23, and Shelby Cookson, 21.

While executing the warrant, law enforcement learned that Coleman was wanted for probation revocation based on domestic violence charges.

He was arrested and additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, violation of a protective order, criminal restraint, endangering the welfare of a child, and kidnapping.

Cookson was interviewed, but has not been charged at this time.
