The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after a woman was found dead with a gunshot wound near a “tent site” in Concord.

On Friday morning, the Concord Police Department received reports that a dead woman had been found outside a homeless encampment in a wooded area near the Concord/Pembroke town line off Manchester Street.

The body was transported to the NH Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

NH Attorney General John Formella announced on Monday that the autopsy revealed that the victim, Jillian Collins, 37, of Concord, was killed by a gunshot.

Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the situation and is working to piece together the events that led up to the possible homicide.

The Attorney General did not specify whether Collins was homeless or living at the “tent site” at the time of her death.
