At around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, Rockland patrol officers noticed a van with no license plates parked outside a business after hours.
Officers investigated the vehicle and discovered a man sleeping inside.
The man allegedly provided a false name and date of birth initially. Despite this apparent attempt to obscure who he really was, officers were able to identify the man as Jonathan Daugherty, 23, of Arkansas.
Daugherty is subject to a non-extraditable arrest warrant for failure to appear and failure to register as a sex offender.
While officers were investigating, Daugherty allegedly attempted to flee on foot, but he was quickly apprehended after a brief pursuit.
He was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail, where he faces charges for failure to comply with sex offender registration, refusal to submit to arrest, and failure to provide a correct name and date of birth.
According to Recently Booked, he was arrested last year on charges of failing to comply with sex offender registration.
He does not currently appear on the Arkansas Sex Offender Registry.
