The Bangor Police Department arrested an Orland man on Saturday after he was allegedly found stealing from a Bangor supermarket and masturbating before serving drinks as a vendor.

According to a police press release, Bangor officers responded to an unspecified local supermarket at approximately 1:32 p.m. after receiving reports of a vendor concealing merchandise.

The supermarket’s loss prevention team also reported that while reviewing security footage to identify the alleged theft, they witnessed the vendor, Thomas Taylor, 74, of Orland, masturbating in the store in view of the security cameras.

When police arrived, they reportedly found Taylor carrying out his vendor duties as usual and handing out drink samples to customers from his vendor table.

Police later reviewed the security footage evaluated by the loss prevention team and subsequently charged Taylor with indecent conduct and theft by unauthorized taking.

The Maine Wire found a Facebook page for a Thomas Taylor, who appears to be the same age as the suspect and whose profile specifies that he lives in Orland and works as a product demonstrator at Hannaford.

The account also includes multiple images of what appears to be the account owner sitting and working outside with what seems to be his genitals sticking out of his pants.

One post, which includes an image of the account operator and has the caption “This is my merchandising apparel. For my other fun garb go to my comments!!!” includes a string of images in the comments showing the elderly man wearing nothing but tattered underwear and socks in various locations outside.
