WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump signaled an intensified focus on Minnesota in a Truth Social post, saying he is sending Tom Homan to oversee matters in the state and report “directly” back to the president.

Homan is President Trump’s Boarder Czar. He is tasked with overseeing all U.S. borders, maritime and aviation security, and the administration’s mass deportation efforts.

In that same post, Trump said the effort will address alleged fraud and took aim at Rep. Ilhan Omar.

In a follow-up post, Trump said Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz called him to request they work together “with respect to Minnesota,” describing it as “a very good call” and saying the two seemed to be on a “similar wavelength.”

Trump wrote that he told Walz he would have Homan call him, and said the focus is on “any and all Criminals that they have in their possession.” Trump said Walz “very respectfully” understood, and that Trump plans to speak with the governor again “in the near future.”

Trump added that Walz was “happy” Homan was going to Minnesota, and said Trump is, too,  pointing to what he called “tremendous SUCCESS” in Washington, D.C., Memphis, and New Orleans, among other places. Trump also wrote that crime is “way down” in Minnesota, but sad he and Governor Walz both want to “make it better.”
