Tractor-Trailer Slams Into Median on I-95 in Clinton; Passing Lane Blocked for Extended Recovery

CLINTON, Maine — A tractor-trailer hauling grocery goods crashed early Thursday morning on I-95 northbound near mile marker 141, leaving the rig in the median and forcing crews to shut down the passing lane for what officials described as an extensive recovery operation.

The Bangor Regional Communications Center received the report at about 3:49 a.m. from a passerby who said the tractor-trailer left the roadway and struck the center median in the town of Clinton.

The driver was transported by Clinton Ambulance to Thayer Hospital in Waterville with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Because the commercial vehicle is located in the median, the passing lane (Lane 1) will be blocked to give recovery crews room to work safely. Motorists were urged to avoid the area or expect traffic impacts.

Officials said updates will be posted on social media once the scene is cleared.
