The Brunswick Police Department arrested a Brunswick man on Saturday after he was allegedly injured while attempting to burglarize a home armed with a knife and a baseball bat.

Police responded at approximately 6:41 p.m. after a caller on Linnell Circle reported a man without a shirt shouting.

Officers arrived to discover the man, identified as Timothy Miller, 41, of Brunswick, with several injuries to his face and body.

The investigation revealed that a homeowner had allegedly awakened to find that Miller had broken into his home.

Miller then allegedly assaulted the homeowner with a baseball bat while also armed with a knife.

The homeowner then reportedly defended himself and injured Miller.

Miller and the homeowner reportedly knew each other before the alleged burglary attempt.

After the homeowner fought back, Miller left the house.

He was reportedly trying to gain entry to a second residence when police arrived, but he did not gain access to that house.

Police arrested Miller and transported him to Mid Coast Hospital for treatment, after which he will be held without bail on charges of burglary, aggravated assault, criminal mischief, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, and violating conditions of release.
