The Brewer Police Department arrested a Corinna woman late last month on drug charges after she was found unresponsive at a stop sign.

While the arrest took place on January 31, police did not release information about it until Friday.

Police responded to reports of a woman sitting unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a car parked at a stop sign.

During the investigation, police determined that the woman was allegedly impaired and identified her as Kelcea McPhail, 28, of Corinna.

McPhail was arrested and allegedly found with illegal drugs on her person.

She was transported to the Penobscot County Jail, where she was subjected to another search.

That search allegedly revealed additional illegal drugs concealed on her person.

She was charged with unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs, trafficking in prison contraband, and operating under the influence.
