SURRY, Maine – Maine State Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon on Blue Hill Road in Surry.

Troopers responded at about 2:44 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, after reports of a crash involving three vehicles. The initial investigation indicates a 2015 Subaru Forester was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason and struck two southbound vehicles, a 2018 Honda Fit and a 2024 Ram 2500.

The operator of the Subaru sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified the deceased as 47-year-old Mark Nevells of Brooksville.

The operators of the Honda Fit and the Ram 2500 were taken to a local hospital, treated, and later released.

The crash remains under investigation.
