Penobscot Deputies Investigating Mattawamkeag Stabbing

The Penobscot Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a person was stabbed during a possible home invasion in Mattawamkeag on Thursday.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, a 911 caller reported a possible home invasion at an Indian Avenue residence involving a stabbing.

Deputies responded and discovered that the stabbing victim had fled in a vehicle.

They tracked the victim to another residence and confirmed that he had been stabbed. He was transported to the Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln.

The Maine State Police joined deputies to secure the scene of the alleged stabbing, and the incident remains under investigation.

No arrests were made, and law enforcement did not explain whether the stabbing victim was believed to be the victim or perpetrator of the alleged home invasion.

The Sheriff’s Department did not name the individuals involved.
