At approximately 8:00 a.m., the Maine State Police Tactical Team joined Kennebec deputies at 124 Hanscom Road in Benton to execute a search warrant.

Kennebec Deputy Chad Webster obtained the search warrant as part of an investigation into possession of firearms by Peter W. Collins, 51, formerly of Benton.

During the warrant executions, law enforcement allegedly discovered Collins and multiple firearms along with ammunition.

Collins was previously convicted of domestic violence assault and domestic violence stalking and is a felon prohibited from owning firearms.

He was arrested and transported to the Kennebec County Correctional Facility, where he was issued a $5,000 bail with conditions prohibiting him from possessing or consuming alcohol and preventing him from returning to the address where he was found.
