University of New England just became the first Maine cheerleading team to ever win back-to-back at NCA College Nationals.

“One year after capturing their first national championship, the University of New England cheer team headed back to Daytona Beach, Florida, to defend their title,” wrote Mackenzie Schors for Biddeford Buzz.

Jaelyn Belanger, a member of the class of 2028 majoring in medical biology, told Schors going into the weekend the team was “hungrier than ever” for a repeat.

As it turned out, they pulled it off.
