Bob Marley in his latest Facebook video is questioning the audacity of Maine’s transpo officials suggesting you “snack wisely.”
Marley, who is arguably the state’s leading comedic performer, happened to stop at an interstate rest area for a travel break.
That’s when he noticed the sign by the rest-area’s lean-to telling motorists to “Snack Wisely.”
“I love it here – a little bit freaking weirdo though. Look at this sign. ‘Snack Wisely. Remember, snacks are not meal replacements.’
“Kind of overstepping your bounds ain’t you Maine? I just pulled in here for Christ sakes and now you’re telling me what to eat?”
Then Marley walked a few feet and poked fun at another sign.
“‘Try water. Dry mouth? Fatigued? Headache? Try water. You may be dehydrated.’
“This is a freakin’ rest stop dude this ain’t a freakin’ doctor’s office.”
Then he walked towards the building at the rest stop.
“This is ‘snack wisely,’” he says as he’s walking towards the shelter. “You go into this building here and you see a sign outside that says ‘Vending Machines 24/7.’
“OK Maine put your money where your mouth is.
“Let’s see what’s going on here,” he says as he’s looking at a vending machine inside. “Should I have a Snickers bar or Reece’s cups?
“A lot of talk Maine, a lot of talk. Snack wisely, eat some of this shit right here.”
Funnyman Marley grew up in Bangor, attended school in Farmington, and began his comedy career in Portland.Marley’s act, which he takes all over the country, heavily features stories about Maine residents, accent, and culture.
He has been on all the major network talk shows in his funny career.
‘Uncle Bobby,’ which he calls himself, even made it into the Guinness Book of World Records at one point with the longest continuous stand-up routine.
Marley beat the record held by Lindsay Webb from Australia, completing 40 hours of comedy, the first 17 hours and 14 minutes without any repetition of material.

“Uncle Bobby” hasn’t yet realized that the state has taken over everything that used to be the responsibility of parents.
