Outgoing Maine Gov. Janet Mills, who threw in the towel Thursday on her U.S. Senate dream, is looking for a sale on, aptly, towels.

To wit, Janet said in her withdrawal statement she’s going to Reny’s.

“While I am suspending active campaigning, I look forward to seeing you at a Reny’s,” Mills posted on her social-media campaign account.

As a way of giving thanks to Janet’s tossing in the towel after throwing everything but the kitchen sink at her cash-strapped campaign, Reny’s is offering a special “Bye Bye Janet” kitchen-towel sale!

For $7.99, shoppers who meet the long faced governor at a Reny’s store will get “The Kay Dee Designs® Woodland Moose Terry Towel, with its classic buffalo check & moose design.”

Janet is happy that the moose towel, as promoted by Reny’s, “will compliment any lodge-themed kitchen.

“Fast drying, plain terry loop backside for absorbency and quick drying 100% cotton. Size: 16″ x 26″ Machine wash and dry.”

After she gets done at the discount towel table, Janet told her ex-followers she will be going fishing “at a trout pond in western Maine,” according to her resignation statement.

“I love you, and I will continue to fight relentlessly for you as your governor,” she said before checking Reny’s bargain bins.

“For the next eight months, I will continue working hard for you.”

And drying her tears with her new Woodland Moose Terry Kitchen Towel from Reny’s.
