Massive Waldoboro Police Operation Leads to Arrest of New Yorker Charged with Kidnapping

A massive police operation in Waldoboro early Wednesday morning led to seven arrests, including kidnapping charges for an 18-year-old New Yorker and the apprehension of multiple suspects wanted on outstanding warrants.

The Waldoboro Police Department worked with the Maine State Police Tactical Team, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA), and the Maine Warden Service to conduct an early morning raid as part of an investigation into kidnapping, theft, and aggravated assault.

Authorities secured a warrant for 80 Reef Road in Waldoboro, where the crimes were alleged to have taken place.

Police included few details on the nature of the operation or the alleged kidnapping and assault, but they did identify the seven suspects arrested.

  • Russell Hardin, 44, of Waldoboro, on an outstanding warrant.
  • Taylor Meader, 25, of Sydney, on an outstanding warrant.
  • Sydney Jones, 38, of South Thomaston, on an outstanding warrant.
  • Shane Jones, 38, of South Thomaston, on an outstanding warrant and charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and two counts of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs.
  • Adonis Morel Tavarez, 18, of New York, on charges of aggravated assault, theft, kidnapping, terrorizing, aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, and two counts of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs.
  • Glenn Hardin, 72, of Waldoboro, on charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and two counts of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs.
  • Yendy Zenzof Rodriguez, 25, of Massachusetts, on charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and two counts of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs.
