“We will not allow the City of Waterville to be a safe haven for these violent criminals. Thanks to the skilled work of our investigators alongside our federal partners, Waterville is a safer place to wake up in this morning,” said Waterville Police Chief William Bonney.
At approximately 11:00 a.m., Waterville Police Officers worked with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the New York Police Department Gun Violence Suppression Division to execute a search warrant at 439 West River Road in Waterville.
While executing the warrant, law enforcement located David McCadney, 19, of New York.
McCadney was arrested on an extraditable warrant for second-degree homicide out of New York.
The warrant reportedly sprang from McCadney’s alleged involvement in multiple gang-related shootings.
He was charged with fugitive from justice and is currently being held without bail at the Kennebec County Correction Facility and awaiting extradition back to New York.
