At approximately 9:49 p.m., Portland officers conducted a traffic stop near 1325 Forest Ave.

During the stop, officers allegedly spotted illegal drugs in an open purse clearly in view. The driver then reportedly attempted to hide a plastic bag containing the substances.

Police initiated a search and discovered a firearm inside the purse along with the illegal drugs.

Law enforcement seized approximately 39.5 grams of a substance believed to be a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The driver was identified as Jill Maynard, 38, of Windham, and taken into custody.

She was charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
