The state’s largest paper Wednesday said it’s going high tech (even while it’s scrambling for readers on its regular browser).
The new app is called Portland Press Herald+.
“The launch is part of the Maine Trust for Local News’ broader effort to strengthen digital access to local journalism across the state and better serve readers wherever they are,” said editor Carolyn Fox.
The effort to keep up with the Joneses (AKA Maine Wire) comes amid the paper’s embarrassing lagging numbers compared to the new kid on the block.
