Trump Announces Planned Blockade of Strait of Hormuz After Iran Fails to Reach Peace Deal

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump announced plans to initiate a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz beginning Monday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, citing Iran’s failure to reach a peace agreement over the weekend.

The announcement came in a post shared on Truth Social, where the president said the decision followed Iran’s failure to uphold commitments related to reopening the critical international waterway.

In the post, Trump stated that Iran had promised to open the Strait of Hormuz but failed to follow through, which he said caused anxiety, dislocation, and hardship for people and nations worldwide. He also referenced reports that Iran had placed mines in the water, raising concerns among ship owners about the safety of navigating the strait.

Trump wrote that Iran’s actions violated international law and harmed the country’s global reputation. He added that he had been fully briefed on recent diplomatic developments by Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner following meetings held in Islamabad, Pakistan.

According to the president’s statement, the negotiations in Islamabad were facilitated by Pakistan’s leadership and lasted nearly 20 hours. Trump said that while some points of agreement were reached during the discussions, the central issue remained unresolved.

He stated that Iran remained unwilling to abandon its nuclear ambitions, which he described as the primary obstacle to reaching a lasting agreement. Trump reiterated his longstanding position that Iran would not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon, calling the issue the single most important factor in the negotiations.

The planned blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically significant shipping routes, marks a major escalation following the unsuccessful diplomatic talks. The move comes amid ongoing international concern over maritime safety and regional stability in the Persian Gulf.

Trump is an idiot.

He has made an arse out of America!

The failed uranium snatch and grab will go down in history as one of the worst military blunders of all time. 11+ aircraft destroyed to the tune of 1/2 a billion dollars. Left in Iran as static displays of American weakness.

Trump didn’t understand Iran’s 10 point plan offer? It was simple. Iran controls Hormuz. Pay reparations. Release Epstein files. Stop attacking Iran allies. Get your troops out of west Asia for good. Apologize to families of the school girls Trump murdered. Iran can enrich all the uranium it wants. No more nuke insp with IAEA. What didn’t dummy Trump understand?

Turns out no destroyers or frigates entered straight of Hormuz. Iran turned them around. US Navy sitting hundreds of miles out to international sea out of range. So is the Tripoli. Ya. Remember the Marines!? Yup. Chickened out.
