Trump Forces Iran to the Table, Grants Two-Week Ceasefire as Pakistan Mediates

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump agreed Tuesday to suspend additional U.S. bombing and military attacks on Iran for two weeks, offering what appears to be a temporary diplomatic off-ramp after days of escalating pressure on Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and move toward a broader peace deal. The pause came after Pakistan stepped in to urge both sides to accept a short ceasefire while negotiations continue.

Trump announced the decision after conversations with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, making clear that the suspension of military action is conditional. According to Trump’s statement and subsequent reporting, Iran must agree to the “complete, immediate, and safe” reopening of the Strait of Hormuz during the ceasefire period. Axios reported that Iran has committed to reopening the waterway for the duration of the pause, while Reuters reported Pakistan’s proposal was explicitly tied to reopening the strait and buying time for diplomacy.

Trump cast the move as a show of leverage, not weakness. In his statement, he said the United States had already “met and exceeded” its military objectives and argued that Washington is now close to a long-term agreement with Iran. That framing fits the broader posture Trump took throughout the day: maximum pressure first, negotiation second. Reuters and Axios both reported that the two-week pause came only after Trump had spent hours warning Iran of devastating consequences if it refused to comply.

That matters because this was not some goodwill gesture from Tehran. Reuters reported that Iran has set hard preconditions for any lasting agreement, including an immediate halt to U.S. strikes, guarantees that attacks will not resume, and compensation for damage. Iranian officials also opposed the idea of a mere temporary ceasefire unless it leads to something more permanent. In other words, Tehran is still trying to extract concessions even after being driven back to negotiations under mounting military pressure.

The two-week ceasefire also underscores how much was riding on Trump’s deadline. Trump had warned Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday or face sweeping attacks on key infrastructure. Pakistan’s intervention appears to have provided a last-minute way to avoid a wider war while preserving Trump’s basic demand that Iran stop choking off one of the world’s most important shipping lanes.

For Trump supporters, the stronger read on Tuesday’s development is that pressure worked. Iran did not get this pause by projecting strength. It got it after facing the credible threat of overwhelming force, international isolation, and growing pressure to back away from a blockade that had rattled global energy markets. Whether this turns into a real peace deal or just another attempt by Tehran to stall remains to be seen. But for now, Trump has chosen to hold fire for two weeks and see whether Iran is serious, or simply buying time. Trump has set timelines in the past and then ignored them, so this story is sure to evolve.

What!?

No, he didn’t! Trump has been begging for a way out for weeks now. His big fake we did great when we only lost 11 aircraft rescuing one pilot was his big fake pat on the back fake win.

Don’t forget it was on TACO Tuesday.

Trump caved two weeks ago.

Also,Trump agreed to Irans 10 point plan which includes getting the F out of west Asia, Iran controls the straight, pay Iran fees for life, no more illegal sanctions, release the Epstein files, etc etc

America was humiliated. The LEGO videos were great. Iran had a LEGO video for every deranged Trump post. Seriously, Iran trolled the crap out of him.

Lesson learned. Never let a fat rich kid from queens start illegal wars on your behalf.

P.S
An infidel in the Bible is a homosexual. It’s true. Read the Bible.

I hear folks dis n on the President. I say this: The degree of understanding on a geopolitical sphere coupled with 100 year charters, i.e. world reserve currency and the responsibility policing the world ; just that alone should make most folks stop and pause. Well, those who understand they don’t know what they don’t know. But, folks can do some history study let’s say about Bretton Woods Agreement. I’m about to get long winded for those who can only handle one thing at a time…..

Also, there is the spiritual factor. Believe or not.

Next time your kid or a subordinate starts giving you shit about how “they think it ought to go”, just rememver this little chat you and I just had.

Dismissed and enjoy your day.

Maybe Trump just gave them enough rope to hang themselves with — reports are that the Iranians are now not letting ships through and had blown up the Saudi pipeline that bypasses this area.

There is a very real issue of logistics. One of our aircraft carriers is broken, it’s actually a lemon and is the logistical issue of getting more bombs and missiles over to that part of the world.

I don’t think Trump even saw ( if he did, he diidn’t read it) the 10 point proposal from Iran – it’s a complete surrender by the US. JD Vance has been leaking to the press about his objections to the Iran invasion and Israel’s deception campaign to push Trump to attack Iran. Getting juicy.

Trump won’t finish his term folks.

No, Trump has humiliated America!

Trump was begging for a cease fire ten days into the illegal war.

Iran turned down Trump’s dumb 11 point plan.

Trump accepted Irans 10 point plan. Which includes Iran maintains control of the entire region, Iran starts making nukes, Netanyahu turned over to U.N for war crimes and all Epstein files released.

There is no cease fire now though. Israel F’d it up by murdering 250 Christian’s in Lebanon today. Ya, Muslim’s in Iran in defense of Christian’s in Lebanon. USA supports satanic Israel apparently.

Straight of Hormuz is closed. Again.

Trump lost.

Again.
