Maine’s own NFL commissioner – Roger Goodell of Scarborough – is among the missing in the growing chatterbox surrounding the head Pats coach and his alleged mistress.
A poster on X, formerly Twitter, questioned Friday how Roger can be so isolated.
After all, the publicity over the NY Post gossip photos of Pats coach Mike Vrabel and ex-NFL reporter Dianna Russini couldn’t be less avoidable.
But Goodell, who for years has owned pricey property in coastal Prouts Neck along Maine’s ritzy southern coast, hasn’t said a word.
Is Vrabel under investigation by the NFL for canoodling with a reporter whose beat includes the Pats?
Actually, included, since Russini quit her job with The Athletic earlier this week.
The Athletic suits had been investigating the alleged recent Russini-Vrabel hookup once the Post ran pictures last week of coach and reporter – both married – hugging and hot-tubbing together at an Arizona hotel.
But Russini, who along with Vrabel insist they’re not having an affair, decided to end the awkward questions by resigning.
So if The Athletic was investigating, why isn’t pricey Prouts Neck Roger doing so?
“If we think about the media’s silence and the absolute iron fist of Roger Goodell regarding any talk of misconduct involving Vrabel and Russini, we must pause,” commented Jonathan Bowen on X.
The Maine Wire has reached out to the NFL for answers but has had no response.

Why write up a story that is focused on gossip? Who cares if a reporter is involved with a coach?
I guess the point of this story is that Goodell is generally not well liked. He’s way overpaid, doesn’t seem too bright or competent, and happens to own a house in a really fancy neighborhood in Maine. No one really cares about the so-called canoodling.
Who, what, where? Why is the Maine Wire wasting print on this, what ever it is?
Who gives a ratz ass.
Back the bus up Tom.
Pro sports is irrelevant. Who cares what these knuckle draggers do.
