At approximately 12:55 a.m., a Bangor officer spotted a speeding truck and initiated a stop.
He identified the driver as Edward Garneau, 41, of Bangor, and initiated a field sobriety test.
Another officer arrived to assist with the passengers, who allegedly appeared even more intoxicated than the driver. One passenger, Jessica Boone, 30, of Stetson, allegedly became confrontational when she learned that the vehicle would be towed and eventually walked away on foot with another passenger.
Following the test, police arrested Garneau and transported him to the Bangor Police Department, where a field sobriety test allegedly revealed that he had been operating at three times the legal blood alcohol limit.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., Boone allegedly drove a different vehicle to the Bangor Police Department in search of Garneau.
Upon her arrival, Boone, who allegedly still appeared intoxicated, was subjected to a field sobriety test and was also arrested.
Both Boone and Garneau face charges of operating under the influence and were transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
