The plane that transported an American who tested positive for Ebola made a stop in Maine at Bangor International airport.

The Phoenix Air jet stopped in Bangor on Wednesday afternoon for fuel, according to WABI-TV via Penobscot County Area Scanner Page.

The aircraft’s final destination was Georgia.

Initially leaving from a Greek island, the plane went to Uganda to pick up an American missionary, surgeon Peter Stafford.

Reports quoted Dr. Stafford as saying he unknowingly operated on a patient with Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo before testing positive.

The plane dropped him off in Germany to receive treatment alongside his wife and four children.

To protect the flight crew and medical personnel, the jet was equipped with specialized equipment featuring a sealed, tent-like enclosure.

The Bangor, home of a military refueling wing, is a common stopping off and emergency -landing point for international civilian and military flights due to its proximity to Europe.

The World Health Organizations says as of Saturday, there were 250 suspected cases and 80 suspected deaths from the Ebola outbreak in the Congo.

Stafford was hospitalized in Berlin’s Charite University Hospital receiving monoclonal antibodies, according to ABC News.

“He needed assistance to walk. He was very weak,” said a missionary spokeswoman. “He was talking about just being almost unable to think.”

Why can’t they make “ medical evacuation “ airplanes that can be refueled “ in air “ ?
Just what Bangor needs is a couple of cases of Ebola .
Janet Mills can shut the state down one last time as punishment for not supporting her senate bid .
Wouldn’t that be great !
