The Knox Sheriff’s Department arrested two Texas residents on Wednesday after they were allegedly discovered with cocaine and a firearm during a traffic stop in Thomaston.

Agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) and Knox County deputies received information related to suspected drug trafficking operations on the island of Vinalhaven.

The information also alleged that trafficking was taking place on the ferry from the island to Rockland.

During the investigation, Knox deputies located a vehicle allegedly involved in the operation and conducted a traffic stop in Thomaston.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed 66 grams of cocaine, a .45 caliber handgun, $9,500 in cash, and other items indicative of drug trafficking operations.

Deputies arrested the vehicle’s two occupants.

Mariah Grover, 22, of both Texas and Maine, was charged with trafficking in Schedule W drugs. She was transported to the Knox County Jail and held on a $50,000 bail.
