The 60 Minutes correspondent canned for insubordination now falsely claims he’s a combat veteran.
Scott Pelley was asked by New York Times podcaster Lulu Garcia-Navarro to respond to President Trump’s calling him “one of the stupid crooked people who don’t care about your country.”
“Don’t care about the country?” Pelley asked, clearing his throat, choking back tears.
“Uh, I’ve never worn the uniform but I’ve been in combat for this country,” he dramatically claimed as the tears flowed. “In Afghanistan and Iraq and Kuwait, been shot at, spent nights in foxholes filling up with water in the desert.
“I’m not aware that the president of the United States has ever done any of those things for his country?
“You become a journalist because you love the First Amendment, you become a journalist because you love the country.
“And while all the other descriptions that the president used about me might be applicable?” Pelley asked, crying, then short of breath whispered, “Not that one.”
Then for added drama, Pelley, shaking his finger, choking on his words, said, “There is no democracy without journalism. It can’t be done. And that is why I am a journalist.”
He never mentioned that his “journalism” as a failed CBS Evening News anchor included opening the broadcast several times with editorial digs at Trump.
So Scott Pelley pours on the emotion as he claims he’s a combat-tested reporter while leaving out that his so-called journalism is defined by one-sided editorializing against Republicans.
Pelley on the weekend podcast also compared his forced departure from the “60 Minutes” team to losing a member of his family or even the murder of a spouse.
New York Post writer Patrick Reilly called Pelley’s dramatic interview “ludicrous.”

The liberal ego is a fragile thing.
Please spare me .
I’ve been done with Scott Pelly since Ferguson Missouri .
What an insufferable, self-centered, lying blowhard!
Know why I don’t know this guy?…..cause I have not watched 60 minutes in like 40 years,
