At approximately 5:54 p.m., troopers attempted to stop a poorly operated pickup truck on Route 25 in Limington.
The truck had allegedly been reported stolen from a Limington residence just one hour earlier.
The driver allegedly refused to stop and continued southbound on Route 25 into Standish. He then turned northbound onto Route 113.
Troopers pursued the suspect through Baldwin and into Hiram, where law enforcement deployed spike mats.
The suspect struck the mats, and the vehicle was successfully disabled.
The suspect was identified as Shaun Webster, 33, of Limington. He was arrested and transported to the York County Jail, where he faces charges of theft by unauthorized use, failure to stop for law enforcement, driving to endanger, operating under the influence, aggravated criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and passing a roadblock.
A man whose name and age match Webster’s was arrested in 2015 for an almost identical crime in Gorham and again in 2022 for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a Limington store.
