The Penobscot Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Bradford on Tuesday.

At approximately 12:40 p.m., the Sheriff’s Department received a report of a crash on Route 221 in Bradford involving a pedestrian.

Deputies responded along with the department’s reconstruction and drone teams with assistance from the Glenburn Ambulance Service and the Bradford Fire Department.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a sedan was traveling south on Route 221 when it struck a pedestrian who was in the road.

First responders attempted life-saving measures on the adult male pedestrian, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Penobscot Sheriff’s Department is declining to name the parties involved out of respect for the victim’s family and friends.

The investigation remains ongoing, and it is not clear whether investigators believe that the driver was at fault.
