A Newport, Maine native may now be a star player for the National Basketball League’s Dallas Mavericks.
But when it comes to Family Feud, Cooper Flagg is being accused of cheating by Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports.
Portnoy’s team competed against Flagg’s family Thursday night on the widely-popular ABC-TV show.
Called Celebrity Family Feud, the teams were competing to raise money for charity.
In Round 4 of the game, Flagg’s mother Kelly played against Portnoy team member Kirk Minihane, a Boston media celebrity.
The question from host Steve Harvey was “what’s the one thing that makes New York Pizza so popular?”
Minihane got to the buzzer first, but had the bottom answer on the board, allowing Kelly to take over with a response of her own.
With control of the board again, Team Flagg cleared it.
Taking the fourth round gave Team Flagg a 543 to 0 win over Team Portnoy and the opportunity to play Fast Money.
Portnoy was livid when he noticed that the Flagg team members were discussing the answer before posting it.
“We’re about to witness clear cheating,” an angry Portnoy posted on X after the game, attaching a video clip as evidence. “They start talking, they start talking, they start cheating instantly.
“I’m always a gracious loser but the Flaggs clearly cheated on @FamilyFeudABC,” he said. “They were shouting answers to each other. Blatant cheating.”
“I stopped watching after this. I won’t stand to watch a game show that allows blatant cheating,” tweeted viewer Blake Amrhein.
In one moment on the program, host Steve Harvey said, “Name something a player probably has that a regular guy might not.”
“Big d*ck,” Portnoy, the Barstool Sports founder, responded without hesitation.
Flagg said, “Wow!”
Harvey was speechless for more than 10 seconds before walking over to the other side of the set to apologize to Cooper’s mother, Kelly Flagg.
“It’s their last time on this show,” Harvey added about Team Barstool.
Watching the veteran champion of uncouth Steve Harvey feign moral outrage with Portnoy’s humor is like the frog calling the prince ugly.
