“Okay listen, forget Jaws… this has turned into Hubba Hubba,” says i95rocks.com’s Lizzy Snyder.
71-year-old Maine lifeguard survives a terrifying encounter with a great white shark… and somehow the internet’s biggest takeaway is, “Can I have his number?” Snyder laughs.
“Greg Wilfert has been a lifeguard for 55 years. He’s got the long beach-blond hair, the rugged beard, total Dog the Bounty Hunter energy, and after his TV interviews.
“Social media has absolutely fallen in love!” Snyder reports.
“People are calling him a silver fox, saying he’s the definition of ‘aging like fine wine,’ and honestly… the comments are hilarious. Men, women, everybody seems to have a little crush on this guy.”
He said the shark dragged him underwater by his rescue buoy off Scarborough Beach, he broke free, and swam for his life.
Thankfully, he’s OK, and now he’s basically become Maine’s newest heartthrob.
“So what started as a scary shark story has somehow become a full-blown love story… between the internet and one legendary Maine lifeguard.” – Lizzy Snyder
