The Westbrook Police Department arrested a 16-year-old on Monday after he allegedly fled police at high speeds.

At approximately 3:55 p.m., a Westbrook officer was travelling on Brackett Street when he spotted a vehicle speeding.
He attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly refused to comply and drove through the stop sign at the intersection of Brackett and Pennell Streets without stopping.
The suspect then allegedly fled onto Pennell Street while operating recklessly.
At the intersection of Pennell and Maple Streets, the suspect allegedly failed to navigate a turn and crashed into a parked vehicle.
The officer arrived on the scene and took the driver into custody.
The suspect was uninjured.
He was identified as a 16-year-old male from Westbrook who was on probation following a previous offense.
He was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland, where he is being held on a probation hold.
He was charged with reckless conduct, aggravated criminal mischief, failing to stop for an officer, and violation of conditions of release.

Where were his parents? May they should have kept an eye on him. Or called the police when he did not behaive,
Parents are legally responsible for their children till the age of 18. Charge the parents for what this kid did, THEY can go to jail while a minor can not unless its juvie hall. Who pays for that damaged parked car, the owner should sue the kids parents for damages.
