The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department arrested two suspects on Tuesday after they were allegedly found running a methamphetamine production laboratory out of their car.
Tuesday evening, deputies conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle occupied by Stephen Twist, 54, and Rachael White, 32.
During the traffic stop, deputies allegedly located crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and what they believed to be a “one-pot” meth lab inside the vehicle.
The hazardous nature of the lab led deputies to secure the scene and request assistance from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
Police also discovered that White was wanted on active arrest warrants after she allegedly provided deputies with a false name.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
White faces charges related to her active warrants along with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, unsworn falsification, and violation of conditions of release.
Twist faces charges of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
