U.S. Sen. Susan Collins will hit the road Friday morning for the latest edition of her traditional “All of Maine” bus tour, beginning a campaign swing that will eventually take the Republican incumbent through all 16 Maine counties ahead of the November election.
Collins will kick off the tour at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Kittery Trading Post before traveling north through the state, with the campaign planning to reach Madawaska during the opening weekend.
The Kittery-to-Madawaska route, stretching from Maine’s southern border to the northern reaches of Aroostook County, is intended to underscore a central theme of Collins’ reelection campaign: that she represents the entire state, regardless of geography.
“The ‘All of Maine’ bus tour is my favorite part of every campaign,” Collins said. “We are starting this year’s tour in Kittery and going all the way to Madawaska this weekend because that is what this campaign is about representing all of Maine.”
“I love the opportunity to talk to people where they live and work all across this great state,” she added.
The bus tour has become a familiar feature of Collins’ campaigns. The longtime senator has conducted a statewide bus tour during each of her previous campaigns, using the trips to make stops in communities that often receive considerably less attention than Maine’s larger population centers.
According to the Collins campaign, this year’s tour will continue through Election Day and eventually reach each of Maine’s 16 counties.
Along the way, Collins is expected to visit small businesses, attend community events and meet directly with residents. The campaign also plans to make stops at community projects that have received federal funding with Collins’ support.
The statewide tour comes as Collins campaigns for another term in what is expected to be one of Maine’s most closely watched political contests of the 2026 election cycle.
Friday’s launch will begin at one of southern Maine’s best-known businesses, Kittery Trading Post, located along Route 1 just north of the New Hampshire border. By the end of the opening weekend, Collins’ campaign plans to be roughly 350 miles north in Madawaska, near the Canadian border.
For Collins, the long trip is also an opportunity to return to the retail politics that have been a hallmark of her campaigns in Maine.
The “All of Maine” bus tour officially begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Kittery Trading Post, 301 U.S. Route 1 in Kittery.
