Lewiston Police announced Wednesday that a man was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a local motel revealed large quantities of scheduled drugs, handguns, and U.S. currency.

On Jan. 2, 2024, Lewiston Police executed a search warrant at an unspecified motel or hotel, finding 10 grams of crack cocaine, 10 grams of MDMA or “ecstasy,” other controlled prescription drugs, three handguns, and U.S. currency.

Following the search, police arrested and charged 35-year-old Morris T. Brutus with Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs, Unlawful Possession Schedule “W” Drug, and four counts of Criminal Forfeiture of Property.

Police said Wednesday that Brutus remains at the Androscoggin County Jail on $1,500 cash bail.
