Democratic Maine Congressman Jared Golden (CD-2) voted in favor of a House Resolution Wednesday condemning the Biden administration’s immigration policies and calling for stricter border security measures.

The resolution, H. Res. 1065, passed by 226-193, with Golden one of 14 Democrats to vote with every Republican in favor of the resolution that accuses President Joe Biden and his Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of creating “the worst border security crisis in the Nationโ€™s history.”

“The Biden administrationโ€™s open-borders policies have incentivized nearly 9,300,000 illegal aliens from all around the world, including criminal aliens and suspected terrorists, to arrive at the southwest border,” the resolution states.

The resolution goes on to accuse the Biden administration of purposefully violating U.S. immigration law by “refusing to detain inadmissible aliens arriving at the border,” and by releasing “millions of illegal aliens into the United States without even processing them for expedited removal to be screened for asylum eligibility.”

The measures the resolution urges the Biden administration to take in response to the border crisis include ending the “catch-and-release” of migrants, to detain inadmissible aliens, to use expedited removal authority, and to “rein in taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens.”

Although a largely symbolic gesture by the House, the resolution affirms that the Biden administration has the authority to establish the listed border security actions, but is “refusing to use such authorities” — a notion many Democrats have denied is the case, choosing to lay blame instead on obstinate Republican lawmakers.

Golden, co-chair of the moderate “Blue Dog” Democrat coalition, previously criticized GOP leaders for not supporting the recent Senate border security and foreign aid package compromise, accusing Republicans of using the border issue as a “campaign tool.”

Golden has since introduced his own compromise legislation, the “Defending Borders, Defending Democracies Act,” a bipartisan $66 billion foreign aid package to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, alongside a handful of border security measures.

A come to Jesus moment or just another political head fake? Thereโ€™s a reason that politicians rate even lower on the trust scale than prostitutes.

Hey Jared, I have a better idea. How about we keep that $66,000,000,000.00 here instead of giving it away. Use the printed funny money to build the border wall and protect this country. Let Ukraine and Israel take care of themselves.

Right on time, Goldie will be the most conservative demonrat between now and election time. And he’s hoping it will work again, last time they had to float a fake republican to defeat Poliquin using stink finger voting! He treats the second district like they are stupid, far left for the first year then slide right on bills that don’t mean crap and beats his chest and the media cheer-leads for him to suck in those hard working citizens that don’t have a lot of time to be immersed in politics. He’s a leftist and he plays the game!
