Pingree Votes to Allow Non-Citizens to Vote in D.C.

"143 Congressional Democrats voted to allow Russian spies, Chinese diplomats, and illegal aliens to influence elections in the nation's capital. It's shameful," said House Speaker Mike Johnson.

The U.S. House voted Thursday to bar non-citizens from voting in Washington D.C. elections, and to repeal a 2022 law which allowed non-citizen D.C. residents to vote in local elections.

“Allowing noncitizensโ€”including illegal aliens and foreign agentsโ€”to vote in elections dilutes the voting power of the citizen voter. My legislation ensures that only American citizens can vote in our Nationโ€™s capital,” said Rep. August Pfluger (R-Tex.), who sponsored the bill.

The bill, H.R. 192, repeals the 2022 Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act, which was passed by a progressive city council and allowed non-citizens to vote in local elections.

Rep. Pfluger’s bill also unambiguously prohibits non-citizens from any ballot initiatives or referendums in D.C.

The bill received unanimous support from all Republicans who voted, but could not receive support from most Democrats.

143 Democrats, including Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine), opposed the bill, thereby supporting the ability of foreigners to cast votes in D.C.’s elections.

Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) voted with 51 other Democrats in support of the bill, resulting in a final tally of 262-143 in favor of the bill.

Following the vote, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) harshly condemned Democrats who opposed the bill.

“Under no circumstances should anyone other than American citizens decide any American elections,” said Rep. Johnson, “143 Congressional Democrats voted to allow Russian spies, Chinese diplomats, and illegal aliens to influence elections in the nation’s capital. It’s shameful.”

Pfluger’s bill will now face the Democrat controlled senate, after which, if it passes, it will require approval from President Joe Biden.

Democrats across the country have continued to oppose election integrity measures, at all levels of government, and have opposed a bill meant to prevent non-citizens from being counted in the census, which is used to determine congressional districts.

Miss Pingree would likely also like to see Illegal Aliens voting here in Maine. If properly paid, they might well vote for her, should she unfortunately be given the chance to run again.

Of course she did! Why would we expect more from this useless antisemitic, anti-Mainer political hack? Maine voters need to vote her out in the upcoming November election.

Vote Pingree out? Good idea, but Maine seems to like her. We keep voting FOR her! The problem is the prevailing political culture here in coastal Maine. Could it be all those lefties who became Mainers when Covid hit? No…a lot of long-time Mainers just plain like her…go figure: we must be a leftist haven! OMG. More than just voting is at stake folks…

Iโ€™m hoping Ms. Pingreeโ€™s reelection in D-1 is not on automatic pilot, per usual. Perhaps the tide will turn toward some sensibility, but I wonโ€™t hold my breath waiting since life requires oxygen.

I live in the coastal area and I can tell you no one I know votes for this hag. Iโ€™d like to see a forensic audit of our voting machines and ballots.

Would be nice if Pingree got voted out but the last time someone ran against her, don’t think she even had to campaign.

As long as Maine has Ranked Cheater Voting you will likely never get rid of the commucrats destroying Maine and the country. Its just as bad as casting more than one ballot in an election.
