On the final day of the annual NATO summit in Washington, D.C., President Joe Biden made numerous speaking gaffes, but two stood out more than the rest.
The first of the glaring errors came during an address at the NATO summit, when President Biden introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Russian President Vladimir Putin, while introducing him to an international audience.
“And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination, ladies and gentlemen President Putin,” said Biden.
He then attempted to salvage the situation, coming back to the podium to correct himself after beginning to walk off.
“President Putin? He’s gonna beat President Putin. President Zelenskyy. I’m so focused on beating Putin we gotta worry about it,” said Biden.
Zelenskyy responded to Biden’s gaffe by saying “I’m better” before walking to the podium to deliver his address.
In a seemingly counterproductive campaign decision, the official X account of the Biden campaign tweeted out a clip of the incident, with a transcript, and no embellishment.
Following the embarrassing incident, Biden was scheduled to deliver an unscripted press conference which White House officials publicly referred to as a “big boy press conference” on multiple occasions, in which he was allegedly going to answer questions off-the-cuff.
The “big boy press conference” which was meant to show Biden calling on random reporters and answering questions that were not predetermined, was invite-only.
The illusion of authenticity was completely shattered when the president admitted that he had been given a pre-approved list of reporters to call on.
“With that, I’ll take your questions. I’ve been given a list of people to call on here,” said Biden, after delivering a pre-written speech to start off the conference.
During the “big boy” conference, Biden accidentally called Former President Donald Trump his vice president, and, in that case, he failed to correct the error and continued with the conference seemingly unaware of his mistake.
“Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be Vice President [unintelligible] think she’s not qualified to be vice president,” said Biden.
The “big boy” conference comes as increasing numbers of Democrats have begun to call for Biden to step down as the party’s nominee due to his obvious mental decline, which was prominently displayed during the first presidential debate of the year.
Biden has always been an idiot.
Now he’s an imbicile with dementia!
Says a lot about the morons who still support him!
sad
Who has the Nuclear codes? Just think Susie Collins supports Biden and will not be voting for Trump .
What kind of person is his wife to let him go out and embarrass himself in front of the world? It’s cringeworthy to watch but all these people care about is their power. Power at any cost apparently.
Eight times Trump has flubbed by mixing up Obama for Biden. Heck, Trump has even said in a rally that he beat Obama in 2016. Then he also stated that we are headed for WWII.
What’s good for one, is good for the other.
Mike Grove YES Mike they have lied to us all!!! The four BRIGHT BOULBS IN MAINE and the even brighter ones in DC Obama , Clinton and most of all The workers
If you start an argument with garbage, that’s where you will end. A lot of comments from people who know nothing about ‘dementia’ nor its causes and symptoms. I do wonder if he is on medicine for anxiety. I ask because that would better explain his facial and vocal issues. In general, a flat effect is either due to medication or a level of depression and anxiety. It seems clear to me that Biden can be energetic. It seems to me that he still demonstrates a high level of executive functioning. Some of the peripheral skills – like memory capture, storage, processing and recall – are a challenge to him. But delayed intake and delayed recall do not add up to “dementia”.
To check the status of executive functioning, the standard test – MOCA – is so simple that a newborn monkey could pass it. They need a sturdier test such as those recommended by the National Test Group’s Early Detection Screen for Dementia; or the RUDAS; or the SAGE (Self Administered Gero-cognitive Examination). If Biden is passing these tests, his problems are unlikely to impact executive functions and decision making.
Lastly, let me say that there are over 100 causes of dementia. Some of them are destructive but many of them are manageable and some are curable. Where does Biden fit in the dementia spectrum? If he is listening to the people around him on health and policy, he’s OK. Someone with severe dementia won’t tolerate earphones, video prompting and notes or lists.
I encourage you to google these tests and take them for yourselves. Have fun.
