Illegal Immigrants Ousted from Boston’s Logan International Airport

Under Gov. Maura Healey (D-Mass.), Massachusetts has pushed forward with “sanctuary state” policies, allowing a massive influx of illegal immigrants, some with pending asylum claims, to enter the state, overwhelming shelters, hotels, and taxpayer-funded welfare programs.

Many of the undocumented migrants or asylum seekers have been housed inside Boston’s Logan International Airport, much to the dismay of local residents and air travelers.

But Gov. Healey announced on Friday that the illegals will no longer be allowed to stay in the transportation facility.

Instead, Healey will be re-locating the un-housed jobless non-citizens to new taxpayer-funded digs outside of the city.

“As of July 9, 2024, sleeping overnight in Logan Airport will no longer be permitted. This decision comes as a result of the administration’s recent efforts to open a new safety-net site, move more families out of shelter, and share a message at the U.S. southern border that Massachusetts is out of shelter space,” said Healey in her announcement.

Healey’s new policy will transfer the migrants currently staying in the airport into a newly operational shelter with room for 140 families.

The new “shelter” is a re-purposed prison, the former Bay State Correctional Center in Norfolk.

Healey also announced that her administration has begun actively discouraging illegal immigrants from coming to Massachusetts, because the sanctuary state’s shelters are already full.

In June, Healey sent a delegation of state employees down to the border to spread the word that Mass. had had its full share of migrants.

“The officials met with organizations that assist families at the border, including Catholic Charities and the Interfaith Welcome Coalition, to ensure they had accurate, updated information to share about the lack of shelter space in Massachusetts,” said Healey.

Healey’s administration sent a contingent of officials down to the southern border to inform Border Patrol and non-government organizations (NGOs) that the commonwealth is full and cannot take on any more illegals.

The Massachusetts officials also directly spoke to illegal aliens planning to come to the Commonwealth and told them that they could not be accommodated.

The governor also claimed that they will begin handing out flyers at the border, telling illegals aliens not to come to the Bay State unless they have a plan for housing, because they will not be able to stay in the state’s shelter system.

Mass. isn’t the first jurisdiction to try and convince illegal aliens not to re-locate onto its welfare and housing assistance rolls.

Last July, New York City dispatched workers to the southern border armed with fliers directing border-crossers to head to other states, like California, South Dakota and Vermont.

Although the decision may seem like a move towards a more sensible immigration policy from the Healey Administration, the state’s shelters nevertheless remain full and a massive drain on taxpayer resources.

Illegal immigrants already in the shelters can expect to be given free food, healthcare, clothing, school, transportation, and even cash, all funded by taxpayers.

Nothing in Healey’s announcement suggested that the state will continue to discourage new arrivals if more free space becomes available in shelters.

Nor has Healey outlined a timeline for winding down the emergency shelters.

My report from Logan Airport this morning, where hundreds of illegals sleep. Not sure how they feel about Gov Healey's plan to send many of them to a former prison in Norfolk. #mapoli #bospoli pic.twitter.com/CEtpil00Lt

Dear Governor Healey,

I will spare no expense to further burden the Maine taxpayers by taking many of your state’s culturally enriching illegals off your hands.

It is inaccurate to refer to these people as illegal immigrants or illegal aliens. You can’t fly into Boston unless you have documentation. Period.

They are not illegal. They have been given humanitarian parole. Look it up. What kind of reporter are you that you can’t be bothered to look up basic facts? Not to mention use your BRAIN. It’s called logic. You can’t just buy a plane ticket and come to US.

Hey, Robert, they did not fly to Boston. They crossed the border illegally and were bussed/flown to Mass by the democrats. Since there waa no other place to house them they were placed at Logan Airport until taxpayer money could be spent on converting Norfolk prison into illegal immigrant housing. That can go anywhere without an ID,only citizens need an ID to fly, take a bus, train, etc.

As soon as Mr Trump is re-elected, the mass deportations may begin.
