Liberal Tankie Admits Biden Era Illegal Aliens More Likely to Commit Crimes

An economist from the Arabella Advisers-backed Maine Center for Economic Policy (MECEP) has admitted that illegal aliens entering the U.S. under the Biden Administration are more likely than legal immigrants to commit crimes.

However, he believes that a “quicker” way to lower crime rates in America is to deport a random sample of U.S. citizens.

“I believe unauthorized immigrants are younger and more likely to be men than other immigrants. Which might account for at least some of the difference in crime rates,” James Myall, MECEP’s Economic Policy analyst and “lead on the inclusive economy,” said on X last week.

Myall, who worked as an archeologist and adjunct college professor before deciding to try his hand as an expert on economics and immigration, made his comments in an X exchange with State Rep. David Boyer (R-Poland).

Boyer asked whether he thought that stopping illegal immigration would lower the overall crime rate.

“It would reduce the total number of crimes but make the rate go up, because native born Americas would be a greater share of the population,” Myall answered.

A quicker way to reduce crime, rather than merely enforcing existing immigration laws and securing the border, Myall said, would be to deport U.S. citizens.

“You could reduce crime quicker by deporting a random sample of native born citizens,” Myall said.

But that wasn’t Myall’s only hypothetical solution for stemming the rising tide of crime in America.

“Or for that matter if you discouraged people from having kids,” Myall added.

The liberal economist acknowledged that deporting U.S. citizens to some unspecified place or discouraging families from having children amid already declining birthrates were “silly” crime prevention policies.

However, he asserted that both methods would be just as “silly” as merely preventing illegal aliens, whom he admitted have a higher likelihood of committing crimes, from entering the U.S.

It’s unclear whether Myall was attempting a joke.

However, Myall elides over the fact that all illegal immigrant crime is preventable when U.S. immigration law is properly enforced and the American borders are secure.

Whereas there’s no existing authority for the U.S. to deport American citizens, tens of millions of illegal present in the U.S. without authorization would be eligible for deportation if federal laws were effectively enforced.

Myall also ignores the crime generated by the act of illegal immigration itself, including human trafficking — both into and within the U.S. — drug trafficking, which has been connected to both Mexican and Chinese transnational criminal organizations, identity theft, forced labor, money laundering, and even terrorism.

Moreover, the Cato Institute study Myall relies on doesn’t take into consideration the fact that illegal alien criminal defenders are sometimes deported. Unlike U.S. citizens who commit crimes, deported illegal aliens necessarily have limits placed on their opportunities to re-offend because they are physically removed from the country.

This factor would impact any attempt to compare illegal alien crime rates with U.S. crime rates, as the Cato Institute and Myall attempted to do.

This isn’t the first time that Myall, who is originally from the U.K. but has legally immigrated to the U.S., has advanced strange theories about what’s best for native born Americans using unsound arguments.

In a 2023 MECEP report, Myall argued that immigrants provide the solution to Maine’s economic challenges, and that Mainers ought to subsidize their food, health care, and housing in order to bring them to the state to fill job vacancies.

In addition, Myall suggested that workforce shortages in the construction industry could be ameliorated by a campaign to get more women, gay men, lesbian women, and transgender individuals working in the construction industry.

According to Myall’s no doubt deep experience with the construction industry, women and LGBT individuals avoid working construction jobs because of a “toxic culture.”

This year, Myall argued that Mainers ought to sacrifice their say in presidential elections by joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

While Maine currently awards two electoral college votes to the statewide winner in presidential elections, the state also allocates one vote per congressional district according to the candidate who won the most votes in that district.

This practice resulted in Maine’s more conservative Second Congressional District awarding former Republican President Donald Trump one electoral college vote in 2016 and 2020.

That has irked Maine Democrats, who would prefer that northern Mainers’ electoral college vote instead be dictated by statewide vote totals.

Maine’s Gov. Janet Mills (D) allowed the interstate compact to become law without her signature after the Democrat-controlled legislature sent it to her desk.

If enough states enact similar legislation, then American presidential elections could be determined via national popular vote, with the result being that U.S. presidents will largely be picked by New York City, Los Angeles, and a handful of left-wing population centers.

In Myall’s opinion, Mainers should support giving up their “privileged position” in the Electoral College for “the good of the country.”

MECEP receives funding from the Hopewell Fund and the Maine People’s Resource Center, two of many nonprofit organizations in the network of left-wing “dark money” giant Arabella Advisors.

Arabella is among the chief groups left-wing mega donor George Soros has used in recent years to influence American politics, media, and culture.

And that is why Democrats keep calling us a democracy instead of a republic.
Dumbing down people to get support for popular vote.
Why people come here and try to change us into the place they left is a question none of them will answer.
Like liberals moving to red states only to continue voting for leftists.

This guy may change his tune if some illegal commits a crime involving him.
No heart for people other than himself.

And to which country does Myall suggest that native-born US citizens be deported to? The USA is our country of origin. If chosen, would I be deported to a place I’ve never been to? And if “anchor babies,” born on American soil to illegal immigrants are exempt (along with at least their immediate families) from deportation, why wouldn’t I be exempt, too, having been born on American soil to parents who were also born on American soil?

Who’s going to make this decision, these choices, and on what grounds?

Is Myall under the delusion that a certain quota of crime must happen, so if non-citizen criminals are deported, then citizens must make up the slack in crime? Am I supposed to go out and rape someone just because an illegal immigrant who was prevented from doing the same was deported, just to maintain the crime stats?

What drug is this fellow on, anyway?

If this is Myall’s idea of making a joke, he then does not have any sense of propriety – this crisis is no joking matter. He has no business or credibility deciding for anyone else what should be done.

I suggest this nut Myall go back where he came from. He’s not from here so who is he to start telling us what to do. Another crackhead progressive.
