A homeless man who earlier this year was charged with assaulting people with a machete, and who a month ago was arrested for an alleged knife attack in a Portland park, this week was arrested yet again on charges of assault and burglary.

Ahmed Hussein Ismail, 38, who police have indicated is “unhoused,” was arrested by Portland Police on Thursday, Sept. 26, and charged with simple assault, burglary and violating conditions of release.

Ismail is accused of forcing his way into an apartment on Weymouth Street and assaulting one of the residents, a Portland Police spokesperson said. No weapon was involved in the alleged assault.

Booking records at the Cumberland County Jail indicate that Ismail is being held without bail.

A month before his arrest this week, on Tuesday, Aug. 27, Ismail was arrested and charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

A Portland Police spokesperson told the Maine Wire that the Aug. 27 assault occurred at a baseball field in Deering Oaks Park, where he was accused of assaulting someone with a knife.

In late January of this year, Ismail was arrested and charged with carrying out at a machete attack at Portland’s Franklin Towers apartment complex.

The fight reportedly involved a man who was “moving around the building with a machete and assaulting people,” according to a police.

When being booked at the Cumberland County Jail for the alleged machete attack, Ismail was subsequently charged with additional counts of unlawful possession of schedule W drugs and trafficking in prison contraband.

According to Maine voting records, Ismail is registered to vote as a Republican.

“In late January of this year, Ismail was arrested and charged with carrying out at a machete attack at Portland’s Franklin Towers apartment complex.” Isn’t that the same building that Freddy Akoa, a Christian, was murdered in by 3 of Ismail’s co-religionists? Keep bringing them in because we all know they “greatly add to the fabric of our society and enrich our culture.”

Don’t hold your breath brother. all is lost. Maybe we need a 7-day waiting period to “cool off” on Machetes. That will fix the problem, right?
