One woman is dead and two others injured after a vehicle crashed into a home on Webster Street in Lewiston early Wednesday morning.

Lewiston Police say they responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle crash at 816 Webster St. in Lewiston at about 4:17 a.m. on Wednesday.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found that a 2017 BMW had driven into a single-family home at the address.

According to police, several occupants had been trapped inside of the vehicle as a result of the crash and required extraction.

One of the passengers, identified by police as 28-year-old Natasha Thoits of Lewiston, was pronounced dead at the scene upon removal from the vehicle.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Blaze Small, also of Lewiston, suffered minor injuries.

A third passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Central Maine Medical Center.

Police say that a fourth male passenger fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

Lewiston Police say their accident reconstruction team is actively investigating the incident, and that preliminary findings indicate that both speed and impairment were contributing factors in the crash.
