Portland Press Herald Political Columnist Reverses Himself, Now Suddenly The Democrat Gubernatorial Nominee Will Win

Who’s on first?

Or more aptly who will come in first?

If you’re having trouble handicapping the state’s gubernatorial race, don’t be looking to the Portland Press Herald for any reliable inkling.

To wit, two weeks ago the paper’s self-avowed Democrat political columnist told readers he was afraid the so-called independent candidate for governor would end up splitting the vote, denying the Democrats a victory this November.

Now suddenly, in a new phase of metamorphosis, Steve Collins has decided ‘no, never mind, forget what I said.’

Now Collins has decided he had it all wrong, that “independent” Rick Bennett can’t win the three-way race between him, Republican Bobby Charles and Democrat Hannah Pingree. Nor apparently can Bennett help Charles win.

“Gov. Hannah Pingree is all but guaranteed,” is the headline on the latest effort by Collins to pretend he’s able to handicap Maine’s political scene.

“The Democrats’ gubernatorial candidate will likely to sail to an easy win in November,” he now says.

“It’s hard to see a path for anyone to beat Pingree,” is the latest from Collins. “Or even make it a close call.”

Who’s on first?

Don’t trust the Portland Press Herald to tell you with any accuracy.

Hey Stevie boy…If you’re going to continue as a political pundit with a sketchy track record, get some teeth whitener and acquaint yourself with some vegetables. You’ll never move beyond the Portland Pravda Herald but at least you’ll look a little better.

Can somebody tell me Hanna Pingree’s qualification to be governor? What exactly is her administrative experience? If she wins, this state is porked.

Qualifications? Who said you need any qualifications to seek high office in Maine? No one seems to question Platner’s. He has a beard, a deep voice and has had a “messy, complicated life.” That qualifies him in the eyes of goofy democrats. He’s never held elected office but we’re told “he’s a smart guy, he’ll figure it out.” No he’s not and no he won’t.

Democrats will manage SEVERAL “ independent “ candidates for our November ballots .
Sheena will add as many as they want ……NO Public Petition required . No signatures to scrutinize . The more the merrier.
Jill Stein ? Conrad West ? Is Angela Davis still breathing ? Who else can Sheena find .
Anything possible to dilute the vote .

Hanna Pingree for the win. All thanks to comrade Bellows counting the vote. Look what she did with the primary vote. She couldn’t get away with fixing that, but she isn’t sown and out yet. Just a few more Amazon ballots….
