Portland Press Herald Bribing Readers With Chance Of Winning A Free Gift Card – If Only They’d Respond

The managing editor of the state’s largest daily is literally begging readers to tell her why they read the rag of record.

Actually Julie Arenstam is trying to figure out what they don’t like about her cute little newspaper.

Arenstam posted a story noting that “by now you’ve probably gotten a few reminders about a reader feedback survey we launched recently.”

The translation of “a few reminders” is “why the f**k won’t you respond to our ‘reader survey?’”

“If you’ll indulge me for a moment, I want to talk about why it’s so important to us,” Arenstam writes.

“What is missing from our coverage?” she is asking readers.

Well, folks, if you have to ask what’s missing from your coverage you have already forfeited the game.

“Take our reader feedback survey,” poor Julie begs. “This survey attempts to get us closer to delivering a better product for you.

“If you can spare about 10 minutes over a cup of coffee, tea or a gin and tonic on these hot summer days, I ask that you help us make our work better,” poor Julie adds.

“And maybe you’ll even win a Visa gift card in return.

“We all know some extra cash could really come in handy right now.”

Seriously, people, have you ever seen anything so pathetic as a newspaper editor begging for readers to explain to her what constitutes news?

And so desperate for feedback she’s offering the chance of winning a “gift card?”

How much is on that gift card? Five bucks? The PPH has been the supreme trash journalism directly funded from Soros himself. They’ve been in league with the woke PC crowd for years and they are highly biased. I want news straight up from the source with no bias so I can draw my own conclusions. I still like to think for myself.

Don’t be too hard on Arenstam. By the looks of her staff photo, she’s still in high school writing for the school newspaper.

I don’t think I’ve subscribed to the PPH since the early paywall days. They still have my email address and today’s solicitation is for 2 months @99c rather than 1 month. Not sure how much longer this can go on.
